Stage 1: Hardware Design
I recently took part in the Nothing Community Project, an exciting initiative centered around reimagining the Nothing Phone 2a. It was an inspiring opportunity to delve into the world of design and innovation, exploring ways to elevate and refine the device to meet the evolving needs of users.
I'm excited to share my entry for the Nothing Community Edition Project — a fresh take on the beloved Nothing Phone 2a📱. While I admire the original design, I've infused it with new colours and textures to offer a modern twist while staying true to the minimalist theme.
By blending subtle changes with the Phone 2a's sleek profile, I aimed to create a design that feels both familiar and refreshingly different.
I made a conscious effort not to go overboard 😅, a trap I often fall into with my wild design ideas. I even toyed with the idea of adding a tiny shiny Aerodactyl 🐲 for that extra flair 🤩, but alas, copyright concerns made me rethink and ultimately abandon the idea.
I hope my approach resonates with the community and the judges.
So, here's the main design 👀 I've been working on: a sleek combination of charcoal gray and metallic shades, accented with some stylish design textures.

Stage 2: Wallpaper Design
As part of the second stage of the Nothing Community Project, I had the opportunity to contribute my creativity by designing wallpapers for the Nothing Phone 2a. It was an exciting endeavor to infuse my artistic vision into the digital realm, aiming to enhance the visual experience for users of the device. 🎨✨
Idea Description:
The ocean's depths are full of mysteries and wonders, especially among the bioluminescent organisms that live there. This wallpaper collection was inspired by the ethereal beauty of bioluminescence, the fluidity of ocean currents, and the captivating play of light underwater.(In simpler terms, do you remember the mesmerising night sequence from the film Life of Pi, in which the protagonist is enveloped by the unearthly glow of bioluminescent animals, casting an alluring spell over the viewer? That was the main inspiration for me.)
The wallpapers' colours are inspired by a variety of sources, including the original collection of wallpapers from the Nothing Phone 2A and photographs of life underwater. For example, the Marmalade wallpaper draws inspiration from the brilliant tones of Ambra and Azunim, which are reminiscent of the regal Lionfish. Gumdrop, on the other hand, draws influence from Rubrane's deep crimson colours and the fascination of the red Octopus. Peppermint's colour palette is inspired by Virmar's vivid hues, which evoke the peaceful beauty of green jellyfish. Finally, the Blueberry wallpaper blends Nexul and Orbique tints, as well as hints of blue ocean colours, to create a tranquil and appealing environment reminiscent of the deep sea.
I have provided the drive file link so you can se all the assets and final wallpaper.
